Changes to the degree program

This master’s program is currently undergoing accreditation and is being further developed, both in terms of content and structure, into the M.A. in International Sport Management.

The planned changes include:

  • The program will now begin in the winter semester (starting in the 2027/28 winter semester).
  • Admission requirements: selective (N.C.)
  • Main language of instruction: English

Proof of a bachelor’s degree in Sports Science (B. A. or B. Sc.), or a teaching-related bachelor’s degree program for secondary education (Gymnasium) with sports as one of the two subjects, or a higher education degree obtained in Germany or abroad that does not differ significantly.

A total of at least 65 credits must have been completed in a sports science subject.

This must include achievements in subject didactics, including at least four individual sports and four team sports as required components.

In the subject-specific disciplines, applicants must have completed coursework, including mandatory modules in sports sociology, sports medicine, training and movement science, sports education and sports psychology, as well as statistics.
