As of the 2024 summer semester, JGU students have access to the Deutschlandticket that is valid nationwide.
Like the previous semester ticket, the new Deutschland-Semesterticket has also been issued as part of a solidarity-based model. This means that all students who are enrolled are required to purchase the Deutschland-Semesterticket, as this is the only way to provide an affordable public transportation ticket for students.
The switch to the Deutschland-Semesterticket means that you can use regional public transportation throughout Germany as of the 2024 summer semester at a lower price than you paid for the previous JGU semester ticket.

You can use your Deutschland-Semesterticket on the Campusportal, which is a portal provided by the Mainzer Mobilität public transportation company.
You can add the Deutschland-Semesterticket to your smartphone wallet. Printouts or screenshots will not be accepted.
The Deutschland-Semesterticket is valid for the duration of one semester as long as you remain enrolled as a student at JGU and the AStA has not granted you an exemption.
Before the start of each new semester, you must repeat the verification of your student status in the Mainzer Mobilität Campusportal to be able to continue using the Deutschland-Semesterticket in the new semester. Please note that your ticket will not be valid if you do not complete the verification.
If you exmatriculate during the current semester, your Deutschland-Semesterticket will no longer be valid starting on the date of exmatriculation, as only enrolled students are entitled to use this ticket.
