On this webpage, you will find all the information you need to apply to JGU with your professional qualifications<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \n\n \n\n

In order to apply for a degree program, you need a university entrance qualification (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung<\/i>, HZB). Depending on which professional qualification you possess, there are different types of university entrance qualifications in Rhineland-Palatinate, which you can apply for online<\/a> at JGU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Direct subject-based HZB:<\/a>
You have completed vocational training relevant to the course<\/a> with a minimum grade of 2.5<\/a>.<\/strong>
Because the subject-based university entrance qualification is only valid for programs of study within a narrow range of subjects, it is generally not possible to change subjects. A separate application for HZB must be submitted for each desired program of study. For the Bachelor of Education\/teacher education program, your prior education must be related to at least one of the two disciplines you will study. For the two-subject bachelor\u2019s program, the content must be related to the major subject.

Direct general HZB<\/a>:
You have completed a master craftsperson examination or equivalent continuing education<\/a> that builds upon your training and education.<\/strong>
The direct general HZB enables you to study without subject-based restrictions. It is therefore possible to change subjects, if you wish. In order to find out whether transferring to another university in another state is possible, please contact the higher education institution in question directly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n \n<\/jgu-base-alertbox>\n\n\n

If you have questions regarding your HZB or other prerequisites, you can contact the Student Services<\/a> hotline<\/a> or the Student Advisory Center<\/a>. Please keep in mind that there is an online info night<\/a> for prospective students of medicine or dentistry where these questions will be addressed. <\/p>\n\n\n<\/jgu-base-accordionitem>\n\n\n \n\n

Before you are able submit a request for an HZB, your foreign vocational training must first be compared with a German reference occupation to determine equivalency. You can find more information here<\/a>. However, no grade will be determined during this process. In order to be able to calculate the grade of the foreign vocational training, you must first submit an application for the recognition of international educational certificates<\/a> to JGU. This process generally takes six to eight weeks. You will need to submit this document with the calculated grade along with your application to determine a university entrance qualification. You can only apply for a subject-based university entrance qualification with a grade of 2.5 or better.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n<\/jgu-base-accordionitem>\n\n\n \n\n

The application for a university entrance qualification (Hochschulzugangsberechtigung<\/i>, HZB) can be completed via JOGU-StINe<\/a>.You can submit your request along with the required documents in the proper form by post. These instructions<\/a> should assist you when filling out the online form.<\/strong>
In general, the processing time for the request is four weeks. Please be aware that notarized copies of your documents pertaining to your vocational training are required and that this may take additional time. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

After your HZB has been made available on JOGU-StINe<\/a>, you will then be able to apply for a spot at the university before the deadline.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After successfully applying, you will receive an official letter of admission<\/strong> from us, which will tell you how and by when you will need to accept your spot at the university and apply for enrollment. We will subsequently notify you about the status of your enrollment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We offer various programs and information prior to the start of the semester<\/strong> to help prepare you for the start of your studies before you get to know JGU and your subject during the introduction week<\/strong>. The steps required to apply for the university entrance qualification (HZB) and for the application as well as the selection procedure for a spot at the university for medicine and dentistry will be addressed.
