English, B.A. British Studies, B.A. British and American Studies, or similar), or<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>a bachelor\u2019s degree from a higher education institution that is substantially equivalent to the above-mentioned programs.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>At least 10 credit points must have been earned <a data-info-popup-headline=\"Proof of American Studies credits\" data-info-popup-body=\"You must provide proof by submitting a certified copy of your degree certificate and of your diploma supplement\/transcript of records which clearly shows which American Studies courses you visited. Submit these documents along with your application.\" class=\"jgu-with-info-popup\">specifically<\/a> in the field of American Studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you earned fewer than 10 credit points in the field of American Studies at the time of application, you may be admitted to the program on the condition that you take part in an obligatory individual advising session. In the 15-minute <a data-info-popup-headline=\"Advising session\" data-info-popup-body=\"The obligatory individual advising session generally takes place 14 days before the beginning of the winter or summer semester. You will receive an invitation to take part in the advising session in writing or via email at least 14 calendar days prior to the set date. If you miss your session without having a valid reason for doing so, the prerequisite will be counted as not met. If you can provide a valid reason, a new date will be set. In this case, you may only be admitted for the following semester.\" class=\"jgu-with-info-popup\">individual advising session<\/a>, special requirements for the master\u2019s program as well your own subject-specific knowledge and skills in the field of American Studies will be discussed. As a result of the session, you may be required to attend additional courses from the American Studies bachelor\u2019s degree program in order to be admitted to the master&#8217;s degree program.
